We believe public education is a cornerstone of democracy.

A real democracy depends on educated people.

Public education is one of the most important promises we make to each other: that every child, no matter their zip code, family income, race, disability, language, immigration status, or background, deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Strong public schools help build strong communities. They prepare young people not only for work, but for civic life, critical thinking, creativity, care, and participation in democracy.

Right now, New Hampshire’s education system is underfunded and under attack.

New Hampshire’s school funding system is broken. It relies too heavily on local property taxes, creating deep inequities between communities and placing enormous pressure on homeowners, renters, seniors, and working families.

Instead of fully funding public education, too many politicians have diverted public dollars into private school vouchers, attacked educators, and turned classrooms into battlegrounds for culture-war politics.

Teachers and school staff are asked to do more with less. Students with disabilities, low-income students, rural students, and students in under-resourced districts are too often denied the support they deserve. Families struggle with the cost of early childhood education, higher education, and student debt.

This is not inevitable.

Underfunded schools are not an accident. They are the result of political choices.

When lawmakers refuse to raise adequate state revenue, local communities are left to carry the burden through property taxes. When public dollars are sent to private education instead of public schools, the entire public system is weakened. When politicians attack teachers and honest education, they undermine the trust and critical thinking democracy requires.

A state that values democracy must fully fund public education.

RAD NH is organizing for education for all.

RAD NH believes every child deserves an excellent public education, and every community deserves fully funded public schools.

We support a fair school funding system, strong public schools, early childhood education, affordable higher education, honest and inclusive curriculum, and respect for educators, school staff, students, and families.

We oppose efforts to drain public schools through privatization, vouchers, censorship, and manufactured culture-war attacks.

RAD NH organizes parents, students, educators, workers, and community members to defend and strengthen public education as a public good.
